ITO EN, a major supplier of premium loose leaf green tea and ready-to-drink beverages, has announced that Daniel Appleman will soon join the team as the new Product Development Manager. This new role will hold Appleman responsible for the research and development of new formulations for the company.
Before joining ITO EN, Daniel worked at PepsiCo as Product Development Scientist, overseeing the integration of new products with sales strategy, quality assurance, legal and supply chain. Responsible for formulating and establishing product design and performance objectives, Appleman launched EU Gatorade Naturals, Propel Calorie Reduction, and SoBe Lifewater. Managing technicians and laboratory organization, his accomplishments include improved color and flavor components to substantiate "all natural" label claims and maintaining flavor integrity. Before joining PepsiCo, he was a Chemist at Watson Pharmaceuticals located in Carmel, New York, conducting analytical testing of product potency, purity, and content uniformity.

A graduate of University of Colorado in Boulder and SUNY Purchase of Purchase, New York, Daniel received his degree in Biology and Chemistry, to include Organic Chemistry and Cellular Biology. Proficient in analytical instrumentation, separation/UV-spectroscopy methods and preparation of bench-top prototypes and shelf life stabilities, he has extensive experience working with FDA and GMP Laboratory guidelines.
