Tea Forte is launching BLEU tea, which is made from Butterfly Pea flowers. Butterfly pea is native to Southeast Asia, as it burgeons during the monsoon season of a tropical climate. The steeped tea is bright blue and its flavor is described in a company press release as earthy yet delicate. The BLEU collection has five caffeine-free herbal blends, each of which combines flowers and fruits. Each of BLEU’s blends come in a Loose-Leaf Tea Canister, or the entire set can be purchased in a Presentation Box, a Petit Presentation Box, a Single Steeps Sampler orKATI Steeping Cup & Infuser Set.

Starbucks Japan Dresses Up Hjiocha

Starbucks Japan brought hojicha into the limelight with its new Hojicha Cream Frappucino with Caramel Sauce when it introduced the beverage on Sept. 15, reports Sora News 24. Hojicha is roasted green tea that is especially popular during the autumn months becasue of its autumn-esque brown color and toasted scent and flavor. Starbucks’ hojicha Frappucino contains five types of roasted green tea leaves. The drink is topped with a dollop of whipped cream, caramel sauce and sugar. This beverage will be available at Starbucks Japan outlets through Oct. 1.

Kabaki Brings Purple Tea from Kenya

Kabaki debuted its ready-to-drink purple tea collection at Natural Products Expo East in Baltimorein September. The five flavors are: Unsweetened, Lightly Sweetened, Lemon, Raspberry and Peach. Kabaki sources its tea from the high elevations of Kenya where the intensity of the ultraviolet light makes the tea leaves purple. The tea is produced under organic, sustainable and fair trade practices. Kabaki donates 10 percent of its profits to support improved access to water and medical care for Kenyans. The company also opened a medical clinic and aims to build a hospital according to a company press release.
