Bobacino – a fully automated boba tea bar and dispenser, which uses AI/robotics and automation – will debut to a large audience at the World Tea Conference + Expo, March 21-23 in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The event is co-located with Bar & Restaurant Expo.
Darian Ahler, CEO of Bobacino, told World Tea News: “The World Tea Conference + Expo is focused on celebrating traditions and the future of tea, making it the perfect place for us to debut Bobacino on a large scale. It’s a great venue for us to connect with boba aficionados and new enthusiasts, sharing our latest technology and innovation in the space… We’re looking forward to making new, shared memories with boba experts and new enthusiasts alike, by bringing the novelty of robotics to the boba space.”
Ahler noted that his company’s goal is to streamline the process of making boba through automation and robotics, and to partner with boba chains and shops to help their businesses thrive. “With a fully automated boba bar,” he explained, “Bobacino offers tea fans and soon-to-be sippers a delicious, contactless and affordable option.”
The new boba tea-making machines will be available for high-foot traffic locations and existing boba operators, as a way to introduce boba drinks to new customers and to create a new experience for boba afficionados.
The machine offers zero-contact food preparation with minimal exposure to contaminants for customers, and the focus is on consistent quality and lower cost of operation.
The Future of Bobacino and Boba Tea
What does the future of Bobacino look like, as well as the future of boba in general? Ahler explained that Bobacino is committed to building a platform capable of automating the preparation of boba drinks for all brands and franchises.
“As we continue to develop and optimize our technology, we will expand our flavor offerings and will add features to the technology to benefit the customer and improve the overall experience,” Ahler said. “Long term, I believe we will see more Bobacino-type of standalone machines, capable of automating growing categories within the food and beverage market.”
According to Bobacino, the boba market is quickly expanding as consumers venture out to try new products and operators that offer customizable options to their unique lifestyle. In fact, the global boba market is currently worth $2.3 billion, and it is expected to hit $4.2 billion by 2027.
“There is a big interest in boba, especially in the U.S., and it’s growing – there's a real opportunity here to apply technology to bring it to its fullest potential,” shared Ahler. “It’s amazing to see the food industry leveraging the power of AI, robotics and automation, and we’re excited to be contributing to the future of the boba space.”
