Village Tea Partners with Celebrity Singer

DALLAS, Tex.

Celebrity endorsements are giving way to celebrity-inspired specialty tea blends. Village Tea Company announced this week that it is collaborating on a new line of teas with actress and singer Deborah Cox, a Billboard chart topper, Grammy nominee and Broadway star.

Cox, a Canadian R&B singer-songwriter with 10 No. 1 songs, is a long-time tea lover according to Village Tea Company founder Martin Ekechukwu. His Dallas, Tex.-based company offers several varieties of tea blends in environmentally friendly packaging available at grocery locations including Whole Foods Market, Vitamin Shoppe and online.

“I’m so excited to join Village Tea Company and Tea Expert Martin Ekechukwu to really promote the amazing health properties of tea especially loose leaf tea,” says Cox, 38, a Toronto native who grew up drinking tea. “I’m looking forward to reaching a new audience of tea lovers. It’s such an exciting time!”

Through this new partnership Cox will introduce her own line of organic flavored loose leaf teas. She says she favors blends like Spice Route Chai, Cherry Me Bloom Rooibos with Acai, Strawberry Passion White Tea, and Gentle Organic Lemon Ginger Green Tea.

“Village Tea has been focused on maintaining and improving our high standards for the environment and tea as well as developing amazing long lasting relationships with our retailers and consumers” said Ekechukwu.  “Having the amazing and talented Deborah Cox as a partner and spokesperson speaks to the growth trajectory and potential of Village Tea Company to become the most admired tea company in America.”
