R K Krishna Kumar, Vice Chairman of Tata Global Beverages will be retiring effective immediately, as The Economic Times reports.
"R K Krishna Kumar, Vice Chairman of the Board of Tata Global Beverages Limited, has stepped down from the board effective close of July 18, 2013, consequent upon his reaching the age of retirement, in line with the policy adopted by the board for retirement of directors," the company said in a filing with the BSE.
Originally appointed into the Vice Chairman position in 1997, Kumar began at Tat Global Beverages in May of 1991 and worked as the Managing Director.
Kumar also served as council on the boards of Tata’s other entities, including Tata Sons Ltd and Tata Industries Ltd.
His retirement comes shortly after announcing a refocus on Tata’s brands.
