The Republic of Tea has donated more than $1 million to cancer research, a milestone for the specialty tea trade.
The Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation praised the generosity of the tea company’s citizens (customers) in a release this week. The company, an official partner of Komen for the Cure, makes a $1 contribution for each tin of the Sip for the Cure series of teas.
The Republic of Tea recently launched the latest of the six flavors in the series: Strawberry Hibiscus, is made from a base of premium Nigerian hibiscus blended with real strawberries, apples and rosehips.
The Sip for the Cure collection is available year-around, not just for a limited time during October/National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Komen for the Cure is the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. In addition to the signature Sip for the Cure Teas, The Republic of Tea offers traveler’s tea tins, bulk bags, single-serve overwrapped tea bags, a glass bottled iced tea for restaurants and mugs - the purchase of each product resulting in a cash donation.
Flavors include Pink Grapefruit Green Tea, Pink Lemonade Green Tea, Pink Lady Apple Tea, Pomegranate Vanilla Red Tea and Red Cherry White Tea. Teas are sold in recyclable tins containing 36 all natural, unbleached, round tea bags free of unnecessary strings, tags and staples. Strawberry Hibiscus has a suggested retail price of $11. Prices for Sip for the Cure Teas range from $10-$15.
