Peet's Coffee & Tea Names Dave Burwick CEO

EMERYVILLE, Calif.

Weight Watchers executive Dave Burwick is the new CEO at Peet’s Coffee & Tea, replacing Patrick O’Dea, who will join the board of directors. O’Dea has been Peet’s president and CEO the past 10 years.

Burwick is a 20-year veteran and former senior executive at PespiCo who resigned as President North America of Weight Watchers Monday. He takes over for O’Dea Dec. 31.

"While Dave has been a valued partner for me these past two years, given his passion for service businesses and experience as a beverage executive, the chance to be the CEO of one of the nation's premier coffee brands offers Dave a unique opportunity. I fully understand and appreciate his decision," said Weight Watchers President and Chief Executive Officer David Kirchhoff.

Peet’s was recently acquired for $978 million by Joh. A. Benckiser a German conglomerate.
