Iced tea product entry is now open for the Global Tea Championship happening in May.
Professional tea experts will evaluate the entries in a blind test May 11-12. A numerical value on a scale from 1 to 100 will be assigned to each tea after all of the tea’s characteristics are taken into consideration. The numerical values determine which teas place first, second and third.
Three main categories will be judged: ready-to-drink, foodservice and instant iced teas. Several subcategories, such as flavored black and sweetened herbal, exist within in each category. A full list of categories can be found on the Global Tea Championship's website.
Entries from around the world will be accepted. Anyone with a commercially sold tea is eligible to enter.
All entrants will receive constructive feedback from the judges, so every entrant will get a valuable learning experience out of the event.
