PHILADELPHIA, Penn.
Following a morning of presentations, focused tastings and discussions World Tea East attendees entered the tradeshow floor and got down to business.
“The show has been marvelous and the quality of the buyers has been tremendous,” said Mim Enck, President, The East Indies Tea Company.
Exhibitors spent the afternoon making leisurely presentations to highly qualified attendees.
“I missed last year, but the show floor was very well edited. It was the right mix of vendors. I enjoyed that it was a more intimate event with fewer vendors but the right ones,” said Angela Strach-Gotthardt, owner of The Secret Tea Society.
Not everyone had time for talk.
“We exceeded our sales goals by 2 p.m. the first day,” said Patti Butler, owner, Woodford Wicks.
“It was really busy all day, but it was manageable. I had the time to deepen some key customer relationships and develop new ones,” said Brandon Ford, Vintage Teas.
“I went to Expo in Vegas, but this was a really convenient event for me to attend. The educational sessions we attended in the morning were great and I was able to find some new ideas for blending teas,” said Rosalind Batt, Provence Tea Market, Princeton, NJ.
Today’s floor action promises more of the same with educational sessions beginning at 8:30 a.m.
