Tea spaces have taken root in many places — pop up shops at farmers markets, tea carts on city streets, formal teahouses in rural settings, and hotels around the world. Ybor City, Florida is about to see a tea cafe springing up in a denim store.
Roberto Torres, founder of Black & Denim jeans, loves to create new businesses. His latest innovation rethinks the traditional clothing store The Blind Tiger Cafe and Co-Work Ybor will be located at 1901 and 1903 E. Seventh Ave., featuring a coffee and tea shop and a high-end denim shop along with a shared business space.
The cafe side will feature Buddy Brew Coffee and TeBella Tea along with the Black & Denim retail space and will make up slightly more than half of the total square footage (1,600 sq. ft.). Black & Denim specializes in American-made specialty clothing and accessories. Buddy Brew is a specialty coffee roaster which opened operations in 2010. TeBella is a family-owned tea company with its headquarters in Tampa. The tea shop offers a collection of more than 100 teas and herbal infusions. Co-Work Ybor, taking root in a 1,400 square foot area adjacent to Blind Tiger, enables Black & Denim to support the efforts of other entrepreneurs and freelancers with shared office and meeting space.
The Blind Tiger Cafe will open in October with the tagline: Cafe, Tea, & Textiles.
