Zealong Tea Estate Expands to U.S. Market

Zealong Tea recently launched a line of botanicals for the U.S. market. Zealong is the only commercial tea plantation in New Zealand. The plantation is known for its clean soil, water and air. Its tea has been sold in high-end department stores such as Harrods of London. Every aspect of the new botanicals collection was meticulously put together while keeping the U.S. market in consideration, the company reported via press release. The new USDA certified organic collection consists of:
  • Lady Gatsby Rose: Manuka green tea, rose and cinnamon.
  • Green Heart: Kawakawa green tea, lemongrass, jasmine and ginger.
  • Fire and Ice: Manuka black tea, ginger, spearmint and peppermint.
  • Ice Breaker: Kawakawa green tea, spearmint, peppermint.
The collection is packaged in pyramid-shaped teabags, which are composed of a non-GMO plant based starch, according to the press release, and do not contain staples, glue or bleach. Zealong also conforms to the world’s topmost standards in food safety and holds ISO22000 HACCP certification. Other teas from the Zealong Estate recently garnered acclaim at the Global Tea Championship in Colorado when their green, black and oolong single serve teas received tops scores in their individual categories.

Peet’s Coffee Adds Sweetness with Honey

Peet’s Coffee & Tea welcomed Springtime with a new beverage line with honey as its common thread, reports the Inquisitor. The new drinks are the Honey Macchiato, Honey Cortado and Honey Matcha Tea Latte. “In welcoming spring, honey felt fitting for a seasonal lineup representative of nature and freshness,” said Dave Burwick, CEO of Peet’s Coffee in a company press release. He added, “We’re thrilled to add to our menu three options that feature an ingredient with a versatility of flavor that blends seamlessly…” The Honey Matcha Tea Latte consists of Mighty Leaf Tea’s ceremonial grade Matcha Tea, steamed milk and a touch of honey. Its price ranges from $4.05 to $5.05 at Peet’s Coffee & Tea restaurants across the U.S.
