In observance of the 50th anniversary of their Taj Mahal Tea, Brooke Bond is using music to celebrate.
The company has launched a new YouTube station called “Darbar-E-Taj,” dedicated to Indian classical music. There are currently six videos available displaying the talents of some of India’s top classical musicians. The first is a selection of clips from the Brooke Bond Taj Mahal Tea golden jubilee concert that took place in February. That event ran for 14 hours. There are also interviews and in the future there will be more performance videos.
The station was created with #fame which describes itself as India’s top live entertainment video app.
This is not Brooke Bond’s first musical connection. Back in 1987 one of their popular television commercials featured Zakir Hussain, famed producer, composer and percussionist. The parent company Hindustan Unilever Limited cites this as the start of a long relationship supporting Indian classical music.
The company’s Taj Mahal Tea House in Bandra will also play host to live shows in the future.
For a very different use of music to promote tea, revisit Yorkshire Tea’s comical 2013 release, “The Tea Song.”
