Seattle invites you to Taste, Explore, and Discover Tea at the 7th Annual Northwest Tea Festival
October 4th & 5th, 2014
SEATTLE, WA (Summer, 2014) - The premiere tea festival in the Pacific Northwest, the Northwest Tea Festival, will delight long-time tea lovers and new fans of all ages with classes, tastings, cultural experiences and great shopping with local vendors. The festival will be held October 4th and 5th, 2014 in the Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center, 305 Harrison Street, Seattle, WA 98109.
The Northwest Tea Festival is offering products, information and seminars for more than 2,000 tea lovers and aspiring tea professionals. The goal is to provide experiences covering all aspects of tea, from the cultural to the historical and the sensory to the scientific.
Entry to the Northwest Tea Festival is $10 for a one-day pass or $15 for a two-day pass. The ticket price includes a porcelain tasting teacup, reusable shopping bag, lectures, tea tastings and access to many vendors with wonderful teas for sampling. Select workshops may require additional fees. Seating is limited and pre-registration for some workshops and additional program information is available on the festival’s website, www.nwteafestival.com. Hours for the Tea Festival are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4th and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5th.
Tea is growing in its popularity here in the U.S. especially with teens. According to Julee Rosanoff, owner of Perennial Tea Room in Seattle’s Post Alley, “Tea is really an unknown beverage—so many people think of just Britain and black tea when the word ‘tea’ is mentioned. But tea is multidimensional in styles and flavor; it’s enjoyed all over the world. Today’s teens are attracted to all of this, as well as the social and cultural aspect of the drink. The Tea Festival connects tea lovers to all the experiences of tea.”
This year the Tea Festival will feature a special 2-hour “Tea & Asian Cultures” event for Girl Scouts of Western Washington. The participating Girl Scouts will earn a patch as part of their participation in the event—learning about the cultures of China, Japan, and India—through the unique perspective of tea!

• A Korean Tea Ceremony
• Appearances and teaching by James Norwood Pratt, author and world recognized authority on tea and tea lore.
• A full line-up of presentations and workshops on tea and related topics
• Our perennially favorite tea tastings – try new teas and discover new favorites!
• Vendors from the Pacific Northwest and across the country showcasing their wares – teas and “tea ware”: teas, beautiful teacups, teapots, and tea accessories
