Laura Ashley, the home furnishings and women’s clothing brand, is famed for its distinctly English romantic look. Now Laura Ashley fans can experience a dash of that romance at The Tea Room, located within Solihull’s The Regency Hotel, near Birmingham, England.
- The atmosphere
The elegantly appointed Tea Room features the company’s best-selling Pussy Willow print wallpaper. Tea is served on Laura Ashley Josette crockery.
- The tea, of course
The Tea Room offers a wide range of Birchall teas, a British blender known for its estate-grown teas from East Africa. Among the offerings are the popular Great Rift English Breakfast, Darjeeling, Earl Grey, single-origin peppermint and Chinese green tea. There’s also a caffeine-free Red Berry & Flowers.
- The food
The sweet and savory Afternoon Tea features (Pounds 20) classic sandwiches such as egg mayonnaise, smoked salmon with marinated dill, and cucumber and cream cheese. The Tea Room also serves light dishes such as soups, cheese ploughman’s and homemade fish cake.

The Tea Room prides itself on serving sweet British specialties, including Bakewell Tart, Victoria Sponge, Lemon Drizzle cake and fresh fruit scones with clotted cream and jam.
