Keurig is looking to make single-serve iced tea brewing more convenient with Brew Over Ice K-Cups for the company’s Single-Cup Brewer. K-Cup portion packs are filled with tea and designed to be used with Keurig brewers.

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc., a Waterbury, Vt.-based leader in the specialty coffee industry, introduced the iced tea-making process with K-Cups.

The process starts with filling a 16-ounce cup with ice and placing it under the brewer. Users then select either the 6-ounce or the 8-ounce buttons for portion control. Ice K-Cups tea is then brewed directly over ice and served.

Iced coffee is made similarly.

“People love iced coffee and teas, and our Brew Over Ice K-Cups make it easy to get a refreshing iced beverage right at home,” said T.J. Whalen, Vice President of Marketing for GMCR’s Specialty Coffee Business Unit.

K-Cup users can try new Celestial Seasonings, Half and Half (part black tea, part lemonade) and Southern Sweet Tea. Other K-Cup options are Sweet Lemon Black Tea, Sweet Peach Black Tea, Sweet Raspberry Black Tea and Black Tea Unsweetened.

Shoppers can buy Brew Over Ice coffee and tea K-Cups in national retail stores or online at www.GreenMountainCoffee.comor www.Keurig.com.
