RTD tea manufacturer Sweet Leaf Tea has moved its Austin headquarters to a new space that is three times the size of its former digs.

It is in the historic Penn Field, an upscale retail and office complex comprising facilities that were formerly part of a U.S. Army airfield. Wiese Hefty Design Build oversaw the remaking of Sweet Leaf's space, which included gutting the building while preserving and integrating structural elements, open spaces and abundant natural light. It holds offices only; no manufacturing or warehouse space.

Sweet Leaf's culture and identity are imprinted on the new space in the form of a "We Believe" wall, "grannyisms" (things company founder Clayton Christopher's grandma used to say) on doors, painted murals, room for the staff's dogs to roam, ping-pong tables, and showers and lockers for those who bike to work.

"Austin is a big part of Sweet Leaf Tea's DNA, and we wanted a space that was representative of both," Christopher said, in a statement.

The 11-year-old company reportedly has 36 employees and bottles 10,000 gallons of tea per day.
